The Heart Of The Matter.

Updated: Jun 8, 2019

Yesterday's visit to the cardiologist (It's ok, I'm not about to keel over any time soon.) took me in close proximity to these two.

Firstly, the Walton Hotel opened on 12th May 1937 - Coronation Day - and stood at 59, St. Augustine's Road in Chesterfield.

The Walton closed in 2015 and has since been demolised. There have been plans for a care home to be built on the site.

A sign of the times!

On Top Road in Calow is the sad sight of Somerset House. Opened in the 1950s, it ceased serving in 2014. Rumours suggest that it could become a Tesco Express.
